This year's Snowball Festival boasts the most impressive line-up sofar. 3D caught up with festival organiser William Balfour and DJs Riotin Belgium to get you in the mood.

HOW WILL THIS YEAR'S SNOWBALL COMPARE TO PREVIOUS YEARS-
William Balfour: This year’s capacity is almost 3000, one and a half times last years so much bigger and I can say this as promoter - better! Both main stages have been significantly increased in size and they need, tickets are going fast

THERE'S A GOOD MIX OF ELECTRONIC ACTS, DJS AND ROCK BANDS: WAS A DIVERSE LINEUP IMPORTANT FOR YOU-
Absolutely important for two reasons: the first is that it simply makes for a better and more interesting event for the punter. More to see and given that people are increasingly eclectic in their tastes I'm sure most are looking forward to seeing acts on various stages and that will make for a far more interesting night, and who knows people might discover something great they didn't know about, that's the great thing about a festival.

Second, to grow the event as we have over the past four years you need to do more than just opening up more dance stages, there's so much great new live stuff out there, particularly local, that it would be criminal not to broaden the event. Truth is this I'd always conceived Snowball as a mini festival, and having grown up in live music and running a live venue it would have been kind of stupid not to.

ARE THERE ANY UP-N-COMING ACTS/BANDS PLAYING THE EVENT THAT PUNTERS MIGHT NOT HAVE HEARD OF BEFORE-
There's a couple of newish bands on the bill: Ghostwood (formerly The Ghosts) who've just released a debut EP and supported the Midnight Juggernauts at the Metro a few months back. The Holidays are a really new power pop band getting some serious props

WHAT'S THE MANNING BAR LIKE AS A VENUE- WILL NON-STUDENTS FEEL WELCOME-
Totally, Manning is anything but just a Uni Bar. Most of our shows are heavily externally focused and Snowball is no different. It's a festival in a Uni Bar, not a Uni festival.
